ORCV Offshore Championship Results

As previously reported Daniel Edwards, three time Offshore Championship winner, took out the award for the 2017 - 2018 season with solid results  in the Devonport, King Island, Port Fairy and Apollo Bay Races. This article provides detailed results for the fleet as a whole.

The 2017 – 8 ORCV Offshore Championship was is awarded on a yacht's best 4 results using the low scoring system including, in summary, the following eligibility criteria:-

  • At least three of the results must be drawn from Cat 2 Races
  • If a boat did not complete either the Westcoaster or the Melbourne - Osaka, her score must include results from both Melbourne - Stanley and Melbourne - Port Fairy.

In addition, following a request for Redress, Australian Sailing ruled that where a Yacht had competed in a measurement category in an event, scores in the Double Handed Division (a performance handicap only race) were to be discarded.

Seven yachts met the above eligibility requirements for the 2017/8 Offshore Championship. Their scores and detailed results are given below.
