2017 Latitude Series Notice of Events and Sailing Instructions are now out!

The Latitude Series is an innovative series of on-water activities to help those new to ocean sailing get started. It also provides a vehicle for established ocean sailors to develop crew members into positions of responsibility in an ocean racing team.

This year the series form the on-water component of the ORCV’s Beyond the Bay program.

Latitude Overnight Event - warning signal at 1255 (AEST) on Saturday, 21 October 2017. Category 5N event conducted on the waters of Port Phillip with alternative starting lines available from Brighton, Mornington and Geelong and finishing at HBYC.

Latitude Ocean Event - warning signal at 0655 hours (AEDT) on Saturday, 25 November 2017. Category 3 event conducted from Queenscliff, out of Port Phillip Heads to a designated “line” of latitude based on the yacht’s handicap and back to Portsea Pier.

Latitude Pursuit Event - warning signal at 0855 (AEDT) on Sunday, 26 November 2017. Category 6 event conducted from Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron to Sandringham Yacht Club. Yachts will be allocated starting times according to their handicap.
