The second placed Sea Eagle 1 skippered by John Garner is also a Geelong based boat and finished 1 hour and 2 mins behind its stable mate Shogun.  No doubt celebrations will be held on both sides of the Strait.  

Next across the line in order was Ray Shaw’s Outrageous, closely followed by Phil Simpfendorfer’s Veloce, another Geelong boat Ian Murray’s Cinquante, Geoff Bagley in Sandgroper, and the double handed crew of Phil Coombs and Peter Walsh in Dekadence.  

The first Tasmanian boat Tristan Gourlay’s Force Eleven was due across the line within the next half an hour.  

The dismasted BOOTS managed to jury rig the radio and was able to talk to the other wounded boat Rough Red briefly.  All is well on board though without a mast the boat is rolling so progress is not as quick as they would like.  They are continuing to motor to the heads and race management are monitoring the situation.  

Rough Red has deployed a drogue to assist them to steer as they continue to motor to Tamar.  Again all on board are well.
