The old fortune telling nursery rhyme states "Tuesday's child is full of grace". The crew aboard the 6 yachts still racing to Port Vila are pleased to have this day of grace after a fairly unpleasant afternoon and evening. Gusty conditions, rain and hail with accompanying thunderstorms challenged the crews late yesterday. But today - with solid winds from behind are far more pleasant. Jazz Player is making the most of this with speeds approaching double figures. At this rate they would be in Port Vila for lunch on Thursday. However, there does appear to be a quite patch east of New Caledonia that might slow them down. Myuna and Escapade are keeping each company at the "Australian" end of the fleet. I opened with reference to Tuesday's Child. Fortunately the weather forecast does not hold true for the Wednesday's Child prediction!
