Club Marine Series, Day Six - Regularity Trial
For all his regular assistance and dedication to the cause here on this website, David Judge, the Commodore of HBYC and Outlaw are our Hero pics for today. All pics © Steb Fisher. For the non-petrol heads, a regularity trial is where you do laps and the mark of your consistency is how you win, as opposed to outright speed.
So then, here is the team getting the pink Bag down for the impending rounding.
Light weather, small gear = no handle.
When I first saw this image I could have sworn that arm looked like a hug was going on...
Downhill with everyone.
A pleasant day all around really.
So thank you for all your efforts David and see you very soon, no doubt. Glad your team had a great day and we were there to capture it.
The Wooden Boat Association is going to love us for this one... In the travel lift pen @ SYC
The crew from Mystery are well aware of their presence on these pages.
Very happy that other styles of boats get out for the Club Marine Series.
Nice and close to the mark...
We're around and heading back downhill.
Delightful.
B1, B2 and B4 = Quattro. No pyjamas though...
Small for sure, but they looked to be having a wow of a time.
B25 = the Flying 25 known as Flying Fox
She's pretty flat underneath, but that long aft deck and forward rig configuration are from another era all right. Good looking craft. Wet as too!
Hot Shot was on of the S80s having a ball out there.
Getting mowed down or running away?
ORCV stalwarts, Under Capricorn. Howdy.
Isuzu Trucks - go deep...really deep. (Give in? OK - Not so squeezy! Oh yeah. Now I remember...)
Pre-feed done and Caro holding the kite in, down on the leeward rail.
Almost around.
This is Caro - not that you can recognise her ever again from this shot.
Yep. Not much more recognisable here, either...
Double Malt is well sailed by these Gents and features well.
AbFab.
Now I reckon it is boats like these guys from Red Rocks that could get a real buzz from doing the 2010 Melbourne to Apollo Bay race (M2AB) given that is Cat3 only this year. See HERE for details.
Yep. They need to go and stick their nose in it, all right. (Bass Strait)
Must love Rubies or something...
Behind Magic (Sm616). Perhaps Phillip should go and have a word with them and say he'll look after them in M2AB...
Look out - the tender's approaching.
More tenders.
Aboard Where's Wal?
Sportboat = Massive Bag.
The little Hick is pretty quick. Ideal day for it too!
Hick Up goes back up. Just had to, you know.
Empara drags the kite in.
Bit of queue. I know. Let's get on the other board and go up the guts. Cool.
Ideal shooting conditions and a dedicated media boat courtesy of RYCV meant there was always going to be heaps of photos, so here are the fleet mages!
Another Adams 10, this time it is Apache.
Mrs Overnewton, Apache, Surprise, Watermark and Where's Wal?
Bottom mark approaching.
Bullet in behind Apache.
Taking a peek. That's peek with a P.
No real room it would seem.
Apache and Bullet and yes, it was that light!
Some more officials to thank for their efforts - cheers. RBYC mark laying department...
En masse.
Very stylish - nice composition Steb.
Good too Steb. Done this before huh? Your boat driver must have got you in all the best positions. You should use him again.
Genuine bow wave, so cannot have been too bad.
Another Adams 10, Salamander III, then Watermark and Remedy.
Barinya, then Remedy, Watermark and Salamander III.
Under Capricorn heading R to L here and on the right it is one of the Tens.
No words needed. Picture's covered it.
As per above - God I used to like writing that on test at school!!!!
Had we not had the pics of David, then this would have go up for hero status.
Can Can, Salamander III and Frequent Flyer.
SS Feathersword getting Foxed (that's got an X in it....)
The Cappers appearing out from under all the sail.
Moths.
Busy times at hand.
Really busy.
Spellbound would want to get that down in a hurry and everyone would want to go wide in these breezes. Greg Norman in there.
Could start charging at that carpark.
If was Intrusion I may have had a squiz inside the envelope...
Talk about flogging a dead horse.
There were more appearing everywhere like flies at a sheep sheering competition...
And this is not the end of Division Two and Three, so get the troops mustered and viewing more images soon. Go on. You've been advised...
