Overview

The course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a short course designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to provide Basic Life Support measures in an emergency.

This CPR course is ideally suited to provide the skills of a combination of Expired Air Resuscitation and External Cardiac Compressions in an attempt to revive a person who has had a Cardiac Arrest.

Even though Apply First Aid (previously Senior or Level 2 First Aid) qualifications, which include CPR, are valid for 3 years, the Australian Resuscitation Council recommend that individuals trained in CPR, should refresh their CPR skills at least annually.

ORCV First Aid Courses are developed in collaboration between the ORCV and The Benchmarque Group and combine Nationally Recognised Training that has been customised with expert marine input from the ORCV into the course delivery and structure. They focus on First Aid scenarios that may confront offshore yachties. The course is highly interactive and practical. It provides plenty of opportunity to ask question of the facilitators and practice relevant marine first aid skills as well as interact with other sailors.
