ORCV UK-Halsey Boxing Day Dash (BDD - 10:30 on 26/12/11)

Duck.

When it rains, they say it's good weather for ducks, but when it's sunny???? Gulls, perhaps?

Our huge BDD avian theme has been running from Coq a doodle do to Crow, then Swan and just recently, Perch. So why the duck? Well unless you were in a different town for Christmas, you would have been hard pressed to miss that there was more water in the streets yesterday than the Bay itself! OK. Slight exaggeration, but the point is still valid. Swimming, not yachting was the idea...

There's 20 knots, Sou'sou'west out there currently and the BoM is still going for sunny breaks in the afternoon. 102 vessels booked in for the fleet start at 1030hrs off Station Pier in Port Melbourne, so it should be a spectacle as always, but you may not need the sun spectacles for a while yet...
