Introductory Meteorology Course

Expressions of interest are sought for a place on the Bureau of Meteorology's Introductory Meteorology Course conducted from 12 - 16 August 2013.

The full Introductory Meteorology Course is an intensive five day course developed and conducted by the Bureau of Meteorology Training Centre (BMTC). The course will provide an overview of meteorological theory and practice as applied in the Bureau of Meteorology, and also give participants an appreciation of the wide range of services that the Bureau provides.

In response to feedback from previous courses, we will also be providing a shorter course. This will consist of the first three days of the above course. This will focus upon meteorological observations, forecasting the weather and severe weather topics.

A course flyer and an outline of the course syllabus and timetable is attached.

The cost of attending the course has recently been reviewed but we believe it represents excellent value. As a result, cost of attendance is $700 per person for the three day course, and $1000 for the full five day course.

Please register your interest no later than Tuesday 9th July by responding to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Confirmation of enrolment will be forwarded by email by Thursday 18th July.

The contact for the course is Bodo Zeschke, phone 03 9669 4753.
