Season Final Club BBQ This Friday Evening, 5th April, 2019.
Although Summer is showing signs of fading like an afternoon sea breeze in the Derwent, we have been granted one more week of balmy conditions, to help us soak up the last few rays of Daylight Saving, with the mercury set to rise again into the mid to high 20’s by mid-week.
What better way to farewell what has been a great summer of sailing, by joining us for our final Members BBQ for the season.
As with our December and March BBQ’s, we will again be providing a range of meats (chicken, porterhouse steak, burgers sausages and salmon fillets), as well as vegetarian options, salads, breads and desserts, all you can eat, for $20.00 per person.
We are once again looking to bring our members and supporters together in a casual environment, to get to know our General Committee, Race Management Team, SSSC and Beyond the Bay Instructors, club volunteers and fellow competitors, ahead of the start of our 2019 Beyond The Bay program, and the final ocean race of the season, the Apollo Bay Race in May.
In addition, we will be launching our new Save The Oceans initiative.
The Team of Faster Forward, in conjunction with the ORCV are challenging all Teams in this year’s Apollo Bay Race to crowd fund $1,000 each, through friends, family and supporters, to donate to our chosen charity partner Tangaroa Blue Foundation and their Australian Marine Debris Initiative.
Alvaro Maz, Faster Forward Bowman and project lead for this initiative, will be presenting more details about this exciting program.
