Melbourne to Stanley Ocean Race. Develop Fully Crewed, Double-Handed or 4+autopilot racing skills.

The race to Stanley is the traditional season-opening ocean race and proving popular for those preparing for a Hobart race. The 152 nautical mile race is held over the weekend before Melbourne Cup and this year starts on 2nd November at 00:05 from Queenscliff.  Traditionally a great warm-up race for those planning a Hobart.  The bonus of all ORCV races is the options of 4 + Auto Helm and Double Handed Divisions.

The race finishes in the town of Stanley which is dominated by a huge basalt headland locally known as "The Nut". Berthing is available in the Stanley Boat Harbour and the ORCV is arranging a welcome event with the local Lions Club. More information.
