Go out “Beyond the Bay” - “Live the dream with confidence”
Ideal for Cruisers and Bay Racers
Have you often thought about what it would be like to sail in Bass Strait, either just around to Westernport for the weekend, or throughout the many fascinating islands, or to even venture further up the east coast to warmer waters in the winter months?
Or have you contemplated joining your fellow club members who venture out the heads in the various ORCV Ocean Races over the warmer months to Apollo Bay, Port Fairy, King Island and even further to Launceston or Hobart in late December?
Is the only thing holding you back that uncertainty of what you need to know to get your boat ready, or the additional things to consider as a skipper, or even the personal preparation required as crew?
The ORCV "Beyond The Bay" program is designed to give you all of the necessary information and skills to help you plan and complete an overnight cruising passage or race, including exiting and returning through Port Phillip Heads, and guides you through this exciting time with the assistance of a mentor from the start of the process, and culminates with two organised sailing events, including the Latitude Race Overnight Navigators Challenge and Latitude Cruising Challenge.
160 people have completed the program so far, several have headed to Queensland as a result or competed in some of our Ocean Races. They enjoyed the program and it gave them a huge amount of confidence.
The program is limited to 60 spots, so book ASAP. To register visit the "Overview & Schedule" page.
More information regarding the full program can be found on the Beyond the Bay Program Overview & Schedule.
