Melbourne to Geelong (M2G) - 11/09/10

Know how.

Savoir-Faire, aka, The Sav, is a Beneteau 47.7 from the Royal Geelong Yacht Club.

TheSav_Kite

Her owners are Malcolm and Yasmin Eaton from Vicsail Geelong. They, "along with The Sav's awesome crew, look forward to being part of this great event and having a marvellous day of it in the M2G Cruising with Spinnakers Division. Keep an eye out for The Sav and make yourself known to us. Please enjoy the regatta and the great facilities that RGYC has to offer." Very hospitable, indeed. You might say that they would seem to know how to do things with a certain style or flair..... Argh. Argh. Argh.

TheSav_TurningMark

The Sav goes around the turning mark of Shortland Bluff in the 2007 M2H.

In 2007, The Sav did the ORCV's Le Coq de la Baie and then 480nm Centennary M2H via Launceston. The have also competed in the AVW Cruising with Spinnaker Division. I believe she may be for sale now and I am also pretty sure she's in Survey, as well...

Seems a bit of close, competitive racing is in the blood with The Sav's owners, as there is a fully renovated Adams 10 that will hit the water in time for the Summer season. We'll have to check that out too!

Right then. You may wish to join all the other vessels and yet not want to have to organise a massive crew or get too busy to have a whole lot of fun. Solution - join the Cruising with Spinnakers Division, even if you have been in the Racing Divisions previously. Pretty Woman was the first to cross over for this particular event, then 2009 Melbourne to Hobart Eastcoaster racer, Biddy Hu II, has shown up on the cruising roster and now Magic, as well. Boats such as Ocean Safari, Vantage, Caledonia and Dream, could well do the same...

If you entered the entire MWS, then you're already automatically entered into this race too, but you do need to complete some more information for this particular race. You can also just enter the M2G race only, if you like, but I guess that means you're giving the game away about your favourite pastime after sailing - partying!!!

There are separate Cruising Divisions (kite and no kite). The M2G Notice of Race is ready for your perusal and the M2G Sailing Instructions are now live too.

Click HERE to go and complete your online entry if you're already doing the MWS.

Click HERE to go and complete your online entry for just the M2G race only and it looks like this, below:

If you' ve got the boat tied up to the quay and think you should give it a run, then do. The M2G is a passgae race and if you do not want to be in with all the racers, even if you normally are, then go in one of the Cruising Divisions. While you're at it, get your clubmates to come along as well. Why? Party. That's why...
