Vanuatu Race/Rally Update
The Sailing Instructions for both the Vanuatu Race and Rally will be published in the next few days but a few key dates should be noted.
1. Safety Audits ( from the NOR)
Competitors are required to submit yachts for an Equipment Audit in Melbourne between the dates of 1 April and 11 June 2014. Interstate or overseas entrants may request alternative arrangements with ORCV by written application. All safety equipment shall be on board and available for inspection by an ORCV Equipment Auditor.
2 . Mandatory Race and Weather Briefing
A race and weather briefing will be held at Hobson’s Bay Yacht Club, Williamstown, on Sunday 22nd June 2014, commencing at 1400 hours.Each boat entered in the race shall be represented at this briefing by a minimum of two crew members. It is strongly recommended that all participating crew members attend this briefing.
3. .Customs Clearance
Customs clearance for yachts starting on June 29th will be at Melbourne City Marina, Docklands on Saturday 28th June. Yachts shall be at Melbourne City Marina by 1700 hours on Friday 27th June unless other arrangements have been made with the Race Director and Customs. Free berthing will be provided for Vanuatu Race and Rally entrants for that night. Yachts starting at other times may expect a similar arrangement.
