ORCV Melbourne to Geelong (M2G)
Yep. Winners are indeed grinners.
A lot of boats did really well and everyone else had a blast out on the track. So here then, are the pics of those with the wine and flags.
The Sav (Savoir Faire) took out Cruising Line Honours and her Skipper, Mal Eaton of Vicsail Geelong, gave us the biggest smile, hence hero pic status. ORCV Vice Commodore, Don Fraser also enjoyed the whole experience.
Brett Avery from Calm took off his sunnies to collect the LH flag and by about 9pm, he'd taken off to parts unknown, as many searched for him...
"He with the flag is our tactician, strategist and all round good bloke, Roger Blasse. Roger is currently the Commodore of the Black Rock Yacht Club and is a fairly handy OK Dinghy and 14ft skiff sailor in his spare time. He has also been known to enjoy a beer or two, which is an important pre-requisite for consideration about inclusion in that fine body of elite sportspersons that make up the crew of Nutcracker." Thank you Chris.
Cam collected the loot for the IRC Div1 win on Calm. Cam was looking like he might also get the Prowl prize, but I have no evidence... Yet!
Rhys Short from Extasea collecting the 2nd in IRC prize - I'm told that 'he's one of the young Turks mentioned, God knows where they ended up Saturday night?' Ah, that would be a yeah. Hhhmmmm. Fantastic to have a bunch of younger souls in the game.
Here's Tony Bull himself, collecting the AMS Div1 winner's loot from ORCV Vice Commodore, Don Fraser. Extasea's owner Paul Buchholz wasn't onboard as he's overseas, but was "really delighted" with their efforts.
Jazz Player was Second in AMS and Third in PHS. Andrew Lawrence happy with the day's work.
Greg Clinnick from Audacious was Second in Div 1 PHS.
Peregrine got Second in IRC Div 2. Ryan Walker here collecting the wine on behalf of his Father, Barry, who'd had a late night on the Friday watching the Cats.
Rob Sill from INSX collects Third in IRC Div2.
Captain Stubbing, I mean Rob Davis, collects the Div2 AMS loot and they also got Second in PHS. Good day's work for a the OTB M&Ds. That'll show the kids how to do it - Line Honours, First AMS and Second PHS!
Matrix's Keith O'Donnell collects the Div2 PHS flag and wine.
Peter Dunne from Upbeat, who got Third in Div2 AMS.
Roger Wale here - Pretty Woman got First in AMS and Second in PHS in the Cruising with Kites Division.
Earlier on, we saw Robert, I mean Vladimir, from Escapade - HERE.
Red Rocks' Skipper is Shaun Harris and they were Second in AMS in the kite fliers.
ORCV Stalwart, Phil Spry-Bailey - Magic was Third in PHS in the kite fliers.
This is Jan Fielding from San Miguel. Jan works at Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron and is a regular sailor, often aboard San Miguel. Jan has been aboard Tigris for the MWS, but 'jumped ship' when Tigris decided not to go to Geelong. SM took out PHS in the non-kites brigade, so it was certainly worth her while.
Yep! You guessed it...

The Colts (Sydney 38s) are having their own fight within the battle - many thanks to Ullman Sails for providing the prize. |

We'll be seeing the team at Geelong, pretty soon indeed. |
Thank you to Monica Tonner and Richard Hunter from SYC for ensuring Steb had a ride and we, therefore, have all that imagery, which just seems to go down an absolute treat. |

It is with thanks to our friends at PredictWind that we've been able to supply such detailled information throughout the entire 2010 MWS. |
