ORCV Melbourne to Stanley (M2S)

Classic.

In the Melbourne to King Island race article, Beef or Swan, we got to find out about the names of the crew on Malcolm Mitchell's, Caledonia. That was fair enough, but it was the crew roles that really got us smiling. Classic. In case you missed them, here they are again, straight from their exceptionally well-completed online entry:

  • Malcolm Mitchell, Captain
  • Paul Pascoe, Yeoman
  • Paul Jenkins, Ship's Chaplain
  • Kim Barnard, Purser
  • Shane Davies, Cook
  • Fletcher Johnson, Cabin Boy

This time, the classic has been deployed by Paul Lindemann's Biddy Hu II:

  • Paul Lindemann, Skipper
  • Brian Burggraaf, Tactician (and of Remedy and 2013 M2O fame)
  • Russell Hibbert, Data Analyst (and also of Remedy fame)
  • Paul Case, Engineering
  • Craig Shepherd, Motivator
  • Grant Case, Masseur
  • Les McKee, Gourmet Chef
  • Wayne Butson, Rigger

So. The good news is that were back in the classic shed on the pier and that there are barge boards in place on the outer finger for the bigger, deeper and lighter craft making their way South in the pre-Xmas classic qualifier.

More information on the shore based frivolity and fun in a separate piece. For now, let's just hope Huey gets us there - in time. Classic - trying to pick the weather at this time of year, this far out. Yeah, right...

They took the disco ball, but left the spa behind for the 2009 M2HE. Wonder if it is going to Stanley this time, as part of the massage therapy?

Let's hope everyone gets to Stanley quickly and can enjoy NW Tassie's wonderful food and hospitality.
