Melbourne Osaka Cup - Southern Cross mechanical fault.
At 22:30 ( Wednesday) a control wire from the helm to the rudder has become disconnected.
Southern Cross is heading to Brisbane under power for repair using the auto steering, about 210 NM.
Current speed 7 knots. ETA Brisbane 12noon tomorrow (Friday).
Following repairs, Southern Cross plan to return to the race.
