Job Advertisement – ORCV Training & Admin Assistant

The Ocean Racing Club of Victoria (ORCV) is offering the right candidate an exciting opportunity to work with our team to deliver our training events, racing program and assist with office administration.

You will be working with our current office staff member in our busy office located in the picturesque Albert Park Lake precinct.

Although there is some flexibility, it is preferable that you are available

  • Option 1 - 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday, as you work with our team to learn our procedures and IT systems.
  • Option 2 – 18 hours across 3 days per week, as you work with our team to learn our procedures and IT systems.

The successful candidate will initially be responsible for the administration and successful delivery of our training program and responding to phone calls and emails, with the scope to expand the role to assist with marketing and promoting our training events.

The role offers interesting and demanding work with the requirement to work additional hours during busy times, specifically to provide support in the lead up to our ocean racing events, cover annual leave and potentially (when required) attend our training online/in-person events to assist with event registrations.

The role requires extensive use of a variety of business information systems including Top Yacht, Revolutionise Sport and Try Booking. Applicants need not be experienced with these systems (as you will receive on the job training), but the successful candidate must be very comfortable with technology and have a high level of competency working with the Microsoft Office Suite.

We are looking for someone who has a positive, friendly “can-do” attitude who can become an important and valued team member. Although an administrational role, experience in event delivery or working to non-flexible deadlines would be considered favourably.

The ORCV is a member-based, not-for-profit organisation governed by our General Committee. We enlist the services of a great number of volunteers who kindly donate their time to assist in the delivery of our program. This role reports to our Volunteer Head of Training and liaises with members of our General Committee, our volunteers, race skippers and crew, training participants and our valued members. For that reason, the ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholder expectations.

As the recipient of the coveted honour of the 2020/2021 Australian Sailing Club of the Year, ORCV continues to be dedicated to promoting ocean sailing, growing participation, providing sea safety programs and value to our members.   To find out more about ORCV, visit www.orcv.org.au
