ORCV Championships

The ORCV will conduct 3 Championships drawing on both Coastal and Offshore events:-

  1. Offshore Championship incorporating both Coastal (category 3) and Offshore (category 2) race results with a minimum number of Category 2 races
  2. Coastal Championship drawing on results in category 3 races
  3. The 38 South Boat Sales Double Handed Championship incorporating both Coastal (category 3) and Offshore (category 2) race results in the Double Handed Division, but with a minimum number of Category 2 races.

 

The Offshore Championship

The ORCV Offshore Championship (Perry Fletcher Clipper Trophy) is awarded to the owner-skipper of the best-performed yacht in the Unrestricted Monohull Division determined using measurement handicap results. Yachts in this Division may be sailed fully crewed, 4+ auto helm or double-handed.

The Offshore Championship incorporates both Coastal (category 3) and Offshore (category 2) race results with a minimum number of Category 2 races. Championship points are calculated on a weight-high point system.

Those who race double-handed are automatically entered in both the Double Handed Offshore Championship and Offshore Championship.

The Coastal Championship 

The Coastal Championship incorporates the West Offshore Products Coastal Sprints.

The Coastal Championship is awarded to the owner/skipper of the best-performed yacht in the ORCV’s Coastal Race Program determined using Measurement Handicap results in the Unrestricted Monohull Division with points taken from the best 3 races.

Boats entered in this division may race fully crewed, with up to 4 crew plus autohelm or Double Handed.

 West Offshore Products

 

The “38 South Boat Sales” Double Handed Offshore Championship 

Is awarded to the owner skipper of the best performed yacht competing in the Double Handed Divisions of the ORCV's Category 3 and Category 2 races.

A Double Handed Yacht racing under measurement handicap is therefore eligible to win the 38 South Boat Sales Double Handed Championship, the Offshore Championship and the Coastal Championship.
