Sailed around a bay course, this event provides a challenge to those who wish to test themselves in a short handed sailing format. It provides a valuable skills training opportunity for those who are contemplating participating in the short handed division of longer races conducted by the club. It is a lot of fun regardless with plenty of variation in sailing it has plenty of upwind, downwind and reaching plus enough tactical challenges to get you thinking.
The Double-Handed Perpetual Teams Trophy (donated by Entire) will be awarded to the team of yachts with the lowest total score calculated from AMS, IRC or PHS handicap categories. Results from any racing division may count, although yachts entered in multiple divisions may only count one result. Teams may consist of up to four yachts with the best three results to count. Traditionally Teams have represented yacht clubs. For the ORCV Double-Handed race, you can enter as a Team representing your club, or as a team of friends from a mixture of clubs, an Under 30’s Team, a Mixed Crew Team, All female Team, Past Osaka Team or base your Team on something else.
