The ORCV has long been associated with double handed sailing and this race is its entrée into the wonderful world of short handed sailing. As such we’ve created 2 new divisions for this year. The carnival of short handed racing incorporates Double Handed (Spinnaker and Non Spinnaker) and 4+Autohelm, over a revised Bay course. Growing in popularity since it's inception a few years back, here's your chance to give 4+ autohelm a try.
This Bay event provides a challenge to those who wish to test themselves in a short handed sailing format, as well as providing valuable training for those who are contemplating participating in the Short Handed Division of longer races conducted by the club.
2021 brings a complete new course to more encompass the short handed way with longer legs! Over one lap of approximately 21nm, yachts will have roughly 5 -7 nm with each leg to be challenge or to challenge.
