Nominate This Year’s ORCV Heroes

Each year, in addition to those people recognised for sailing performance, we want to celebrate people who have contributed to the overall growth and development of ocean racing and the ORCV.

We seek nominations for four key awards: Ocean Sailor of the Year; Volunteer of the Year; Crew Encouragement and Young Sailor of the Year.

Nominations are now open for you to nominate any ORCV member who you feel meets the key criteria and close 11:00pm on Wednesday 28 May 2025.

Key Criteria

Ocean Racer of the Year

The award recognises individual achievement or excellence in Ocean Racing. The achievement is not limited to racing success and may be in the form of a contribution to Ocean Racing in Victoria over a number of years in areas including, for example, sailing, navigation, boat preparation, race management, rescue or incident recovery.

Volunteer of the Year

Each year, we award a person this award for their outstanding effort and contributions to the ORCV and its members.

Crew Encouragement Award

The award recognises crew/skipper members who are relatively new to ocean sailing and who have demonstrated the attitude, commitment and energy required to be a truly valuable crew member.

Young Sailor Of The Year

The award recognises younger sailors (25 years or younger) for their contribution to and participation in ocean racing.

As a club, we have some amazing members and look forward to receiving your nominations.
