ORCV Melbourne to King Island (M2KI as part of the MMOC)
The result?
A great time had by all! Just ask them.
Now, Magic ultimately made it in a little after midnight and the King Island Boat Club ensured they were moored, fed and watered with all the usual customary splendour. They also got the best Wooden Spoon prize I have ever seen - over $150 worth of cheese! Don't get ideas anyone...
There arrival also meant that the results tables to could be finalised. In IRC, Geomatic Joker was first, then Jazz Player and Ninety Seven. AMS was won by Jazz Player, then there was Addiction, with Beyond Outrageous in third. In the race for the highly sought after McConaghy Melbourne Offshore Championship flag, Chikara Outlaw too the title with Beyond Outrageous and Addiction in the minor places.
One really has to mention Magic Carpet, who won Line Honours, over their fully crewed fellow competitors and so collected the Two Handed Division for their efforts, as well.
One member of each crew present, a few coin tosses and somebody walks away with a roll of Donaghys rope - nice!
Very happy people indeed - as Jo Norbury said, "We don't win anything usually." You do now!
Crays, wine, trophies and flags - they love their MMOC flag, "We want the wheel, though!"
Jazz Player won AMS.
Some of the Jazz Players, with Grassy Harbour and the boat, behind them.
