ORCV Melbourne to Geelong (M2G)
Dambusters.
Time for some more pics and we're just going to go wherever we want... Many thanks to Steb Fisher for providing us with them.
Like the Dambusters or a flight of Catalinas/PBYs. It is the hero pic, but was to hard to see as the thumbnail...
Let's start with the start. This is Australian Crawl - Go Deep!!! Big Hit.
The SAV gets away to windward of Biddy Hu II, with Escapade and Red Rocks in behind them.
Others took a more conservative approach to things.
Our friends The Cappers and yes, Phil does have a cigar going, I'm told.
The Pretty Woman.
Possibly Upbeat on the left and then Slice of Heaven and Spirit of Freya.
Some Sav.
Some more Sav.
And yes. I have joined the Savoir Faire bandwagon.
The relatively newly acquired Cadence (formerly of Adelaide).
The ORCV's very own Tanya Stanford and her Nouannie.
Galaxy approach the finish line.
What a lovely shot of John Raff's Western Sun, which is another monty of a boat to do the M2L Cruising Division. BTW, Deja Vu was the first to complete the EOI and now Morning Star has joined her. Both vessels are from the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria. Go HERE to do the same.
Team Gienah. Fourth in on the rail is He of the Loud Jokes - Nathan Edwards - trying to hide, but he'll say he's looking for wind... Such a wall flower, not. First on the rail is Jordan Crowley whom we first got to meet as part of the SSSC pics attached to Van Halen v The Pointer Sisters.
San Miguel and that's Chris Gibbons visible between the forestay and the red sleeve.
Jan, who collected their prize in the pushpit there.
A little bit of Challenge and another row - this time the Channel Markers.
And a little bit of Clockwork in behind them.
Mille Sabords, who've had a huge season learning the boat. Wow. 316 Man (Simon O'Malley) is still out with the shorts. See HERE for the reminder.
Those last three are this piece's artsy fartsy numbers...
One of our earlier Cruising with Spinnakers entrants, Dionysos the Greek God of Wine. Yum O!
What a shame they did not stay for the party and to collect their wine.
Quick Sandra, look! A really nice pic of you guys.

As the hero pic did not work as a thumbnail, I thought this would be an entirely suitable substitute - and it is - Malcolm Mohr's Independent Endeavour.
Magnificent old Swan 65.
Steb tells me that, "she came up, tacked onto Port and then tacked again to get around, with lots of boats on her tail and boy does she take a while to come round. Perfectly judged in the end, with no excitement." Ah, well she'd have to be 25tonne, you know... and we love her!

Team Love Boat.

James Cyclone Bacon adjusts heady trim on Calm.

Probably doing a lazy 8.5+kn.
Now this is just cool. Straight down the prodder to Willow helming. Ritchie Benaud or what!!!
TPs certainly go hard.
Pete Williams in the cap trying to get them inspired for a bit more hiking.
But they're on to him, especially that man Hugh, second in. First in is Cam, but he's already had enough press for one race.
Slotty (Jason Van Der Slot) in the grey cap now visible. What a great owner he is - even gets the first two slabs for the boat when they dock!!!
We're not sure what the pose is for...
However, Marissa McManus definitely likes the idea.
Yeah, yeah. They're on the way...
