Melbourne to Geelong (M2G) - 11/09/10

He of the Countdown Timer.

We have not heard from him for a little while, but He of the Count Down Timer is back and he has informed me, that as of Thursday 19/08/10, the following events have this many days to go until their starts:

  • M2G 23 days
  • M2S 72 days
  • COB 129 days
  • M2H 130 days

He's as much of an icon on the site as He of the Loud Shorts, Mystery Man and the Bay's oldest Bowman. Speaking of pointy ends (segue, segue, segue), if you look at the days to go, well, there are not a huge amount left, either. Anyway, He of the Countdown Timer, is of course Jeremy Walton, who is genuinely prepared to be upstaged by the wonderful Karen and we saw some info about them in More Four - Thanks Karen.

Jeremy was one of the four souls onboard Rogue Trader when this great © Steb Fisher image was taken at the end of R4 of the 2010 MWS. I reckon he's the one with his back to us...

12 vessels have thus far made the most of their MWS entry in a Racing Division and completed the required extra information for the M2G Racing Divisions, which is HERE.

Whereas others, like say Peregrine from RGYC, have chosen to enter the M2G Racing Division, simply as a solo event. You can certainly do that too, right HERE.

Last year, around 58 vessels made the approximately 40nm journey and there were only the Racing Divisions then! Now with the Cruising Divisions a big part of the M2G... well, you get the picture. The main thing is that as an existing MWS entrant, you must please complete the extra information for the M2G. Remember, as mentioned, if you did a block entry for the 2010 MWS, then entry for the M2G is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Cool huh! Me likey, likey that.

The M2G Notice of Race is ready for your perusal and the M2G Sailing Instructions are now live, too.

If you' ve got the boat tied up to the quay and think you should give it a run, then do. The M2G is a passgae race and if you do not want to be in with all the racers, even if you normally are, then go in one of the Cruising Divisions (kite and no kite). While you're at it, get your clubmates to come along as well. Why? Party. That's why...
