ORCV Melbourne to Geelong (M2G)
Hi Ho, Hi Ho.
It's off to the South we go.
We're now heading South after rounding R2 and depending on your division, that either meant a trip to SYC's #5 Mark (Outer Southerly) or into the delights of the Carrum Bight. Of course, if you were Alien or Young Ones, you needed to get that information correct to avoid the disappointment of having to go back over ground you had already covered! Doh.
Many thanks to Steb Fisher for the use of his images.
It was BBB's first outing and chance to put up some of her rags in anger...
Yes - those kites are big and no - there's not a lot of freeboard involved. Never is with a skiff...
Andrew Burggraaff on the trim there.
Great gull placement.
The flock on deck. Calm had more on the day, however...
He of the Countdown Timer...
... and She of the immense power.
Yes.
Hi Mate. Note to self, change numbers on BBB's Big White Bag.
Over 12kn of breeze and open angles = bow out and game on!
Going fishing.
Yes it is a lot of sail area.
Ninety Seven.
Is that Neisha trimming???
You know, the absolute best thing to come out of all of this has been everyone's involvement with the site. One of our original readers was Ian Lindsay from Team BO, who just sent in, "Just to show you that I'm still paying attention, the Ninety Seven kite trimmer is Bernadine (Bernie) Mynott!"
Well thank you mate and all the best.
Hero shot because you don't always get the sponsor's Bag around the right way - not that it matters here, as they are now BMW Brighton, but there you have it. Then again, I notice that the Sm is still there and not the B, so you give on the one hand and take with the other...
Those right in on the bricks tending to pick up a little current, but the breeze was definitely better out to sea a bit... Inside won for those at the front.
Audacious in front of Swordfish Trombone.
Peregrine back behind XLR8.
Clipping along nicely.
Lots of nice shots to keep them all happy...
Had anyone else but the BBB been this close, this is what they would have seen. Calm led from go to wo...
A little over at the start and it did not improve from there for The Finger. Cost them the PHS win in the 2010 MWS too! Took out their SYC winter series a week later to compensate - a bit...
I am sure there will be... Soon, too.
The full MWS results are HERE.

The Colts (Sydney 38s) are having their own fight within the battle - many thanks to Ullman Sails for providing the prize. |

Many thanks to John Kint, Brian Case, Dianne Rose and the many, many helpers at RGYC for making it such a great place for us to get to. |

Thank you to Monica Tonner and Richard Hunter from SYC for ensuring Steb had a ride and we, therefore, have all that imagery, which just seems to go down an absolute treat. |
