ORCV Melbourne to Geelong (M2G)
It pays to advertise.
The first of Steb Fisher's pics are in for us to look at - so no preamble - let's just do the Warner Wolf.
Now she said she wanted a lot of really nice pics, so she went about making sure of it. Now, the She is our current FDU poster girl, Patricia Laverty who was driving Graf Spee on the day. It was always going to be the hero pic, it's just that I don't think Wendy (Steb's partner) wears that colour lipstick. Still. Love the thought and yes, it pays to advertise, for you were guaranteed coverage. Oh yes, and AustWide is Particia's signage company... (plug, plug, plug.)
Steb considered this image for a while and then commented that "Heisenberg and Einstein noted that with regard the act of watching, the observer affects the observed reality - this is proof." As for me, I just wonder whether Steb will show this shot to Wendy or not? Hmmmmm.
PS. No wonder it's a wry smile. Clever girl.
The Birthday Boy, John Williams, behind the wheel, whilst son Bruce seeks inspiration elsewhere. GA just visible behind the hand on the rail. James 'Cyclone' Bacon trims with Brett 'AWOL after 9pm' Avery in the dark glasses - and the night has not even begun for there to be a morning after - yet! Good lad.
Malcolm Mitchell and the gang have a had a wee spell away from it all, so here's proof that they still know the yachting thing.

RaRooooowwwwwwwwww! Roger and Michele Wale's Pretty Woman.
You know I always put a shot of Neville 'Nifty' Rose in when I get one. Not only is he on deck, he's even smiling!
You've always got to have a fleet shot and here's one for now. It's also a wonderful artsy fartsy number, too! Love your work, son!

The Sav (Savoir Faire) with the Scotchman's Hill precinct as a backdrop - Nice.
Boy did they get a rousing reception for their win at presentations and I'm starting to work out why...

Here's Cadence.

As The Love Boat goes by, He of the Pointy End tries to tell us something. Me thinkey that this could end up being a troublesome image....
Now what a magnificent shot, huh. Apparently the Committee Boat politely advised Horizon Sprint that they should cut back to the channel at this point, given that their current course would put them on the sand bank - they changed course instantly. You know, they may just have been looking for that bucket of chicken that Simone Hoey bought for them that went over the side when Robbie got the wanders on with the tiller. That's what it was, wasn't it Mitchey???!!!
So that means there is more to come - promise!

Thank you to Monica Tonner and Richard Hunter from SYC for ensuring Steb had a ride and we, therefore, have all that imagery, which just seems to go down an absolute treat. |
