ORCV Melbourne Winter Series (MWS)

Tigris has entered the 2010 MWS, which is great. Thank you. She is a Flying Tiger 10, which is how I got from Tigris to that other really famous, Angelina Jolie voiced character, Tigress, from the animated feature of virtual cult status.

The word itself is Persian and means fast or arrow-like and of course, is a river that flows from Turkey, through Syria and on to Iraq. There it joins the Euphrates for its last 170kms, before it spills into the Persian Gulf. Naturally, a river that flows through areas known as Mesopotamia, Armenia and Persia at various points in history, has seen a lot of action.

Our Tigris has been busy too, most recently in the AWKR, which is where our pic comes from. We hope you are indeed arrow-like and scoop the pool, in there with your fellow 30footers!
