ORCV Melbourne Winter Series (MWS)
Results and thanks.
As a result of the fun that was the 2010 M2G, we now have final results in the 2010 MWS. A big thank you to everyone for making the 2010 MWS such a hoot. Woohoooooooooo! So. Make sure you're ready for the AGM at RMYS on 23/09/10. Just be there. No booking required. 7pm for the AGM, followed by a short break for the usual, convivial drink and nibbles and then the all important presentation of trophies.

Well done Jazzy. The Finger compete in just about everything and had this in the bag, but a DNF in the M2G has them slipping to fourth.

Between the Colts and the 40somethings, it was red hot all season. Nice work crews. Well done to Challenge who really sailed well. It was also really good to see Mille Sabords out there, who had gone from crew to owners and drivers.

Are The Love Boat going to get into that or what??!! Alibi and Hush must be mentioned for making the 30somethings such an interesting category to watch. Cheers.

A bit of a disaster in R4 has cost Spirit of Freya a podium here. Still. First full season for new Skipper Joanne and I know they're fired up about Xmas, even if it is just to get something over me!
OK. Many thanks to the Race Management team, headed by ORCV Rear Commodore, Simon Dryden. Particular mention goes to Robin Hewitt along with David Leroy and his team. Naturally, it would all not go so smoothly without the efforts of Sally Williams and Tanya Stanford in the office.
Personally, I would like to make a big thank you to the one who is always heard, but not often seen - Peter Clancy. He is the voice of ORCV Melbourne and runs all the skeds for the offshore work, along with the radios during the M2G. Cheers for all your lack of sleep and thank you.
Thanks to David Judge and Tony Dawson (seen here on the left) from HBYC, who made sure Privateer was out there for the MWS and hence for Steb to get us the images. HBYC Club Captain, Kevin LeNepveu is on the right and he too made it out for most of the races. Cheers.
Thank you to Monic Tonner and Richard Hunter who got Steb water borne for the M2G. (Thanks to Chris Furey for this image of Steb and Richard, driving). Thank you to Steb for getting out there each time, despite the conditions and remember to buy Steb's pics!
Yep. More soon (and you know it!).

The Colts (Sydney 38s) are having their own fight within the battle - many thanks to Ullman Sails for providing the prize. |

We'll be seeing the team at Geelong, pretty soon indeed. |

Thank you to Monica Tonner and Richard Hunter from SYC for ensuring Steb had a ride and we, therefore, have all that imagery, which just seems to go down an absolute treat. |

It is with thanks to our friends at PredictWind that we've been able to supply such detailled information throughout the entire 2010 MWS. |
