ORCV Melbourne Winter Series (MWS)
Roger. Roger. (GO for R5 Passage Race).
We have clearance, Clarence. The Brass have said 'GO' for Sunday!!!
"The Bureau has forecast a gale warning for tomorrow, Sunday, which is when we intend to run a race. If you look at the MSL (Mean Sea Level) prognosis, you will see that the front will be past Melbourne by start time tomorrow and the next front will cross over Melbourne late on Sunday night, so I am quite satisfied that we will have suitable conditions in which to run a race. I will see you on the water", said Simon.
"Looking at the wind model from the Bureau of Meteorology for Sunday @1300hrs, you will see that all the high winds will be at the bottom end of the Bay, so should not effect our race area."
"The next model I have for you, is from our friends at PredictWind and it looks to me that its timing is out, but the winds are well within the allowable wind range for racing. The map below is from 1000hrs."
"This one, below, is from 1300hrs."
"Lastly, the forecast table from PredictWind has the front passing through the race course in the afternoon, which still could happen, but my money is on an early AM change."
Expect a bit of this, seems to be the general idea.... Add some rain while you're at it.

Have a blast.... BTW, if it's wrong, the queue will begin behind Peter Blake, Pete Chalkley, Mitch Batson and Chris Furey. Take a number. Argh. Argh. Argh.
The full MWS results to date are HERE.
You can still enter individual MWS races HERE and the M2G is HERE - remember that Cruising Divisions will be offered for the latter event.
