2013 Melbourne to Portland Race - SURVEY VESSEL OPERATION

Seismic survey vessel VIKING II will be conducting a seismic survey commencing on 2nd Nov 2013 in the area bounded by the following co-ordinates. 1.          38 40.0S     141 45.0E

2.         38 55.0S      142 50.0E

3.         38 50.0S      143 00.0E

4.         38 50.0S       143 15.0E

5.         40 15.0S       143 10.0E

6.         39 45.0S       141 05.0E

Seismic survey vessel VIKING II is restricted in her ability to manoeuvre and is towing 8 cables each 4 NM long. All vessels are to keep a minimum distance of 6 NM from the VIKING. Viking has AIS and will also be active during the return from Portland. Boats can enter the area but keep at least 6NM from Viking. Chart below ( OP 1-6 are the above coordinates)
