Ocean Racing Club of Victoria
2013-14 Race Radio Communications
Since we will be using the Charleville station, the frequencies will generally be different from when our radio communications were centred in Melbourne. The frequencies for the various races will be chosen from 4483 (our old favourite!), 6218, 8210 and 12305 kHz. The three new frequencies are already registered international frequencies but they are generally used in duplex mode (different frequencies used for both transmit and receive) but we will be using them in simplex mode (same frequency for both transmit and receive). You may find these frequencies already programmed into your radio, but most likely in duplex mode so you will have to arrange to program your HF set to operate at these frequencies in simplex mode or else you will not be able to communicate with Kordia. Portland is not far away so best have look at your HF radio and make sure it will be all set to go in November!
